940s vs. 240s 900 1991

I just bought a 1991 940 turbo wagon with 153,000 miles a few weeks ago. Do 940s last as long as the 240s? My only problem with the car is that when I start it, I have to give it gas or else it won't turn over. Anybody know what this could be? Are there any other trouble spots I should watch out for?
