Braking THUMP!! 900 1994

1994 940 wagon. Was curious what would cause a large thump when the car is placed in reverse and the brake is then applied. The thump is non-existent when the brake is slowly applied immediately upon starting the reverse. I hope this makes sense. Otherwise the car brakes jsut fine, besides some mior squeaking
