'95 960 AT woes S90-V90

Hello everyone. On December 5, my wife Carmen posted at the 900 Forum on problems with the '95 960 AT because my computer was down. Thank you all for the replies. The previous owner had this AT put in new from Volvo at the dealer right before I bought the car three or four years ago. As soon as I bought the car, the E,S W lights started flashing and thanks to the helpful advise here at Brickboard I put in a Volvo AT oil cooler and flushed with Mobil 1 ATF. At the time, the dealer representative swore they put in a new AT temperature switch, but in fact I found it disconected. I also cleaned and packed with dialectric grease AT connectors, as per 700/900 FAQ. Since then, I have driven the car about 6,000 miles per years, and not hard, up and down the mountains in Puerto Rico and the AT ran flawlessly. Then a few days it suddenly started slipping when accelerating up the mountains doing about 60 mph and I limped home with the E,S, W and orange arrow lights flashing once again. When I arrived home, I read OBD1 A/1 codes 325 (fluid overheating), 114 (progam slector open circuti, or short circuit to ground) and 311 (missing RPM signal from AT). As per helpful replies here at Brickboard, I ordered a new OEM PNP switch. I was sent to the wrong address. So, as per instructions posted here at Brickboard, I had the PNP switch taken from the car by a mechanic friend to clean it and pack it with fresh grease. Inside the PNP switch contacts and grease looked clean and in good order. The switch also tested perfect for continuity between connectors inside and at the far end of the wires. The mechanic put the cleaned PNP back in the car, but nothing doing. AT still slipped something awful. I caught a bit upon starting the car, but it would start to slip within seconds. I am sure it started to slip as soon as I shifted gars, but I am not sure it started to slip if I did not shift gears. Worse, my mechanic friend and I heard noises from inside the AT as if it had been without fluid, but fluid level chack OK. Mobil 1 ATF smells burnt, however, which makes my friend think that clutches inside AT are gone. All I can think is that I burnst these when I limped home, but this took only ten minutes or so. Please, advise!!! Thank you.
