English or Metric, what's the deal? 120-130

So what IS the deal with the Amazon- English or metric? I guess I just assumed Euro=metric, but then there's talk of whitworth for the SU carbs.... And in my effort to make a pressure bleeder for my single circuit brake master cylinder the cap seems to be metric (albiet, a weird size that I'll probably never find something to fit... trying to drill out a spare cap to take a hose fitting resulted in a shattered cap- what is that made of? bakelite?), but english fits better on some things I've decided to mess around with. Just wondering- I split my wrenching time between a metric M/C and now the Amazon, and they're both in different locations.... If I can just divide to an english toolbox and a metric one it would be nice!

And while I'm asking- anyone ever made up a tool list for an Amazon? Like are there certain sizes of sockets that are good to have deep, etc. etc?
Thanks!
