packing drive shaft 200 1987

Getting the whining noise from the rear-center of the cabin, which I've read is the drive shaft bearing - right?

From the haynes' manual, I have an idea of what I'm doing, and intend to try to use a grease gun with a needle tip, but wondered if anyone had any better advice to inform me before I start crawling around on the ground... thanks!
