Hope someone can help me out. A couple of weeks ago I started hearing a loud whining sound coming from the front part of my engine block. The sounds like an old chevy when you have one of the belts too tight (like a cat being tortured). The noise seems to be coming from an area about 5 to 6 inche below the thermostat. The whining is less when the car is warmed-up, but starts again once it cools down a bit on restart. I removed the drive belt to check if it was one of the pullies, but the whining noise still persisted.
Other than the noise the car runs great.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
