240 battery question 1986 200

Hey Everyone,

I recently bought a group 24 battery for my '86 240. This fits the battery tray well but has the positive post sort of close to the driver's side inner fender. Is this bad? This is the correct size battery for the year. I know that the battery size changed on the later 240s. Does anyone know what size battery it changed to? I'm presume that the tray is different. My other '86 will need a new battery soon and I want to consider a later style battery.
