960 How do you repair a trans cooler line? 900

I was in the process of replacing a radiator in my 960 and everything was going smoothly until I got to the lower trans line on the radiator. It was about 28 degrees out and getting dark. My hands where numb when I kinked the lower line.
How much pressure is in the trans line? Can a piece of flexible hose with clamps work as a repair or should I just replace the whole line? The dealer wants about $45 for a new line.
