While in search of a continuing, nagging, hot/no start problem for the past 18 months or so I have replaced the following equipment and serviced my car with
Volvo/Bosch/OEM parts and still continue to have complete no start problems with my 1994 940 turbo. After sitting a while with the hood up it starts and runs great.
RPM sensor
Distributor Cap/plugs/rotor
Radio Suppression Relay
Power Stage Amplifier
Coil
Engine Temperatue Sensor
Neutral Safety Switch
Fuel pump relay
Starter
Turbo inlet hose
Ignition swith*
Thermostat
Lubricated chassis/battery grounds.
(2)visits to the local Volvo dealership for computer analysis and new ignition switch I didn't need *
(1) other visit to another Volvo authorized repairshop for a computer analysis.
I've got the thottle switch, engine cooling fan relay, and idle control valve to replace next and all that's left is the ECU/fuel injection controllers. I really like this car but I'm running out of ideas of how to cure this problem and having already take the car to the dealer twice with no luck I'm not sure where to go next.
Question:
Is there a temperature value, signal, ohms, etc., that is sent from the ECT sensor or other device to the ECU or Fuel Injection controller that purposely prevents the engine from starting if this value, signal, temperature is reached?
Thanks for all the suggestions and anything else you have to contribute.
