My '90 745 n/a w/ Rex/Regina of course has no AMM. Since there are therefore no platinum wires to cook if the airbox thermostat fails, I wonder if it's best to leave the flextube from the exhaust manifold attached to the airbox or detached. There's an air temp sensor in the section of intake hose downstream of the airbox, where the AMM would be on a Bosch, but I assume that wouldn't be harmed by airbox stat failure. Anyone know? Would other components be at risk? It seems there'd probably be certain winter advantages--faster warmup, etc.--with preheated air coming from the manifold oven. Thanks everybody!
