Replaced the flame trap, still stumped. 200 1988

I have a an 88 240gl, with the newer setup of the flame trap. After every trip, the 240 smokes terribly, from the oil leaking on the headers. Its coming from the filler cap, sprays rather. When the car is pushed hard, fast acceleration, the worst it gets. I replaced the flame trap and washed the engine bay hoping I fixed the problem, but no, there is no difference. Im using a quart a week. The seals are breaking up from the pressure. What else could it be?
