Timing Belt on Cam pulley's edge 900 1993

The car is a 1993/940. B230F Engine. I have noticed that the camshaft pulley is not aligned with the middle shaft or the crankshaft pulleys. It is a little inwards toward the engine. This makes the timing belt run right on the edge of the camshaft pulley and a bit off the edge at the beginning of the pulley. Someone in another forum has told me not to worry and I did worry for a while, but this keeps bugging me. Is there a longer camshaft version for this engine? any opinions? Thanks
