how hard is it to switch transmissions? auto to manual 𖑀] 200 1990

If I buy an automatic (hopefully a 90-93 240 GL sedan)and want to switch it over to a manual - what would I be getting myself into? I just replaced the blower fan/ heater valve in my old brick- thats the hardest thing I've done. how would this compare?
