**PART III** cranks all day, but not running........ 900

ok, so the car runs now. here's what happened:

i replaced the crack sensor at night in 10 deg F weather, then i tried to start it. same thing that was happening before. it would crank and crank, but would not run, even after checking the fuses.
the next day, i went home early from work to solve this mystery. by this time it was about 38 def F. my father cranked it while i looked into the valve cover with the oil cap off to see it the timing belt notches had beed sheared. the cam was moving, and the car started, and i immediately replaced the cap. it ran for for a while, but the iddle was very rough...i had never heard it run so terrible because it is alway soooo smooooth. my father was in the driver seat, and he was giving it some gas to see if the iddle would smooth out (doing so against my will)and it did smooth out, but still ran a little lumpy. so i turned it off, and went to volvo to buy a fuel pump relay, and replaced it. it started up fine, and seemed to run smoother. i let it iddle for about 15 minutes, and it was fine.
i drove it around allnight with frequent stops, and its fine, or seems so.

was it the fuel pump relay, or the temperature?
