In Wal-Mart the other night and happened to walk down the aisle where they have auto touch ip paint, etc. I spied 3M auto trim adhesive, 1/2 inch by some unremembered length for $4.49. It is grey adhesive "tape" with red, peel off, plastic on one side so it could be rolled up the way they sell it.
This is what I used to restick the fat plastic trim on the sides of my brick after rust work a few months back. I chose it because the strips are grey and matched the trim color well and you do see it a little when you are close to the car and look down. It has worked great so far.
But I knew what I used was wider than this "auto trim" version and I had gotten mine in the paint section of the same Wal-Mart. So out of curiosity, I went through paint and there they had the same stuff, same length roll, but 1 inch wide and for $3.49. Since I had cut mine down the center into 1/2 inch strips to make it go further anyway, I realized that I had gotten a bargain. Twice as much for $1 less. I used 1 and a half of these wide rolls to stick on all but one of my trim pieces.
Just thought I would pass this along for those of you who might be buying some in the future.
Happy Bricking Holidays to you all!
