Well, a few complications. It was a B230FT in a 740, it's 25 F now and wasn't much warmer when I was trying to do it in the driveway this afternoon. Some idiot rounded the rear A/C tensioner nut and I had to go to the hardware store and get a new nut (after removing the whole bracket and going after it with the bench-vise)
But. it's done. People in the 700 forum told me to worry about that wobble I saw a few weeks back and stop driving it. I'm glad I did, the old pulleys spun on the balancer easily and a bunch of crescent shaped pieces of rubber fell off the thing when I took it out. Here's a tip. Always have a half dozen accessory bushings on hand when doing this type of stuff. I always find a bunch of worn out ones and was glad to be able to pop in new ones.
Thanks to everyone who responded to B.C.'s post a while back. I got the little slot lined up correctly and used the rope trick to bolt and unbolt it. Who needs a manual when you've got the Brickboard?
Oh yeah 2.5 hours with constant trips inside to warm up, plus a trip to the hardware store.
Merry Christmas Brickheads!
