Wheel Pin 91 240 200 1991

This is not a complicated post, but I want to get it right.....

I have ordered some 15X7 Borbet Type Es to replace the 14" steel wheels on our 91 240. I know I have to remove the locating pin. Previous posts indicate the pin should be replaced by a 6 mm bolt. Does anyone know what length I need? I have seen 1/2 to 1" listed.... Does it have to be countersunk, or can a standard hex head work?

Thanks for the help. have a great holiday!

Dave
