Need some help with a mitsubishi turbo problem. My experience is with the Garrett's, so this is new to me...
The car will not hold coolant, it just comes pouring out of the turbo as fast as I can put it in. After looking at it, I find that it is, in fact, coming from the turbo.
On the outboard/passenger side of the turbo (toward the outside of the car), the line for the coolant goes to the lower radiator/waterpump. However, directly underneath the hard line/banjo fitting on the turbo, there is another threaded hole in the turbo center section/housing. This is where the coolant is leaking from. There is nothing in this threaded hole!
Questions: Is there supposed to be another fitting in this hole? Or is it supposed to be blocked off with another bolt. And if there is another fitting, what does it go to? I can i.d. the two needed water lines (lower radiator hose and coolant reservoir return line) and the oil supply and return lines, but what would go in this extra port?
Thanks-
Kerry
