B21A with Zenith-Stromberg Carb Owners 200

Hello,

I followed Haynes advice scattered about the book regarding Tuning and Idle Adjustment of my Carb.

Suffice it to say that anything and everything that could be done that would affect tune-up or idle has been done, including many things that most folks do not think of or consider a waste of time, effort, and money.

I am perplexed that no matter what I do to adjust the idle, it still varies, up and down on the new digital handheld automotive multimeter (RPM setting), but the sound of the engine does not seem to vary. What gives? Or, is it really varying a couple hundred RPM, but I am deaf?

It seems the Idle can be adjusted in three locations. The Throttle Stop Screw (Where should it be set, ideally?) The Brass Screw near the Fuel Shutoff Solenoid on the Manifold, behind the Throttle (Where should it be set, in, out or ???) And, the Idle Trim Screw (The only initial setting that Haynes addresses)

If I turn one, it affects the other.

I found some clown screw the Temperature Compensator screw all the way in. I replaced the TC with the one off of the ugly, dirty spare Z-S Carb and no problems starting, without choke.
