'87 740 GLE Wagon won't start

hi. i'm new to this board. my 87 740 GLE wagon was running fine yesterday morning but now it just won't start. Cranks fine but won't fire over. has new plugs,etc.

Could it be a fuel filter? i so, were is it located onthe car. service maual says it located in the rear of vehicle in a bolted up drop down box.. I couldn't find it...

any help would be greatly appreciated.
