Cooling fan replacement on a '75 240? 200 1975

Are there any tricks to this? It makes a horrible screeching sound when the car is warm, turns when idling but not very fast. Appears seized when trying to turn by hand.

My main question - do the hub and belts have to be removed, or can I just remove the shroud, unbolt the metal fan blades, and change the thing the blades are attached to?
