Drive Shaft Carrier Bearing Check. 900 1995

How much movement of the carrier bearing within the rubber mount is considered acceptable when one applies lateral forces to the driveshaft with one's hands. I am not certain but feel that the bearing (and thus the shaft) maby be moving too much. Visually the rubber mount appears in good shape but when I apply force to the drive shaft it moves perhaps as much as an 1 inch. Also, if I rapidly accelerate in reverse there is a heck of a vibration on initial movement. (only with high torque acceleration as a test methodology). Nothing like that in forward acceleration.
