hi there, happy new year. 85 244 turbo intercooler. im not getting the extra compressor boost above 3,750 rpms. i checked the charge air pressure switch, and the solenoid high boost valve and they check out (per bentleys). i did some other checks from bentleys wiring diagrams 390-28 k-1, L-1. have power at terminal 15, checked continuety on wire from ign coil to terminal 31-B rpm relay. also continuety on wire from charge air pressure switch to terminal 31 on rpm relay. there is continuety on the wire to the solenoid relay from terminal 87=output. it doesnt look like the rpm relay is getting closed=(picked)
to power the solenoid for the extra 2 1/2 psi boost. i also hooked a test light near the solenoid and revved up to 4,000 rpm's and the light did not come on. im not very experienced with this kind of stuff. is there any other way to test this (sealed) rpm relay? does this tell me if the rpm relay is shot? do you know where i can get another relay (the volvo parts guy where i live doesnt like me very much) or does anyone have one layin around part# 1 348 249 sorry for long post. thanks in advance for any help or info.
