feels like it is not going into gear on 5 speed 200 1986

Hi all,

In the past couple of days it has become more difficult to shift my car into gear. It feels as if the "gvooves" that I am used to shifting into from first to second and so on have been slightly altered from their paths so that the stickshift itself is bumping into something and not engaging smoothly. Make sense? If it does, then how do I go about correcting the problem? Thank you in advance. George
