Rebuilt cylinder head 200

When you guys install a rebuilt cylinder head do you generally use a thicker head gasket to bring the cam sprocket closer to original height spec. I was reading that if you take to much metal off (greater than .015") in the machining of a warped head you risk problems with the timing belt and having the engine timing retarded.

Is this a real problem when buying a rebuilt head or just after a warped head has been machined a few times too many ? Not sure how to even measure this with the tools I have ? Should I just ignore this warning and use a regular gasket ? Comments before I start this little job ? Thanks !!
