I picked up a new motor for my 122s this weekend. I couldn't pass it up at $160 complete with harness, computer, alternator, starter, ac compressor, power steering pump, flywheel and a few other things i probably won't use. It's a nice compact Yamaha SHO 60degree v6 that supposedly weighs around 465 lbs complete. I'm not sure if i want to use the stock FI computer or go Megasquirt and Spark. I'm not sure if MS could control the opening of the secondaries. Is there an easy way to do an RPM activated switch?
Yes it's a front wheel drive motor and yeah it is from a Ford Taurus. At least a few others have paved the way, just not in a volvo. I figured since Yamaha made the new Volvo V8 it wouldn't be too objectionable to do this swap.
50% off day is coming up later this month and i will go in search of the proper bellhousing and perhaps a t5 transmission.
Here are some links that got me going:

TR7 SHO
