Hello all,
The replacement distributor I ordered finally arrived, and after buying a new rotor and cap (because the old ones, which were still relatively new, didn't fit)was installed. I used the same lines I made on the block and the distributor housing to line up the new distributor, and carefully put the distributor in place. After crossing my fingers, I hooked up the battery and turned the key. Presto! No start. Okay, Abracadabra! Still no start. I scratched my head, realigned the rotor with number one, TDC, all that rot, and made sure nothing had changed. Cap and rotor back on and still no start. I did put the coil wire near ground and cranked the motor and was rewarded with spark on each revolution, so the distributor/Hall Sensor solved the main problem, now how do I get the engine to start?!? All suggestions gratefully accepted.
