Front Driver Side Window Regulator

The regulator sprockets on my front driver side window are broken and the window can not be rolled up tight. A common problem, I'm sure, especially on a '79 245. Can I replace just the part with the sprockets or do I need to replace the entire regulator? Also, can I replace my regulator with one from another window, or does it need to always be a front driver side part? Thanks.
