did a search, cant find match to my problem. '91 245 w/266k, reliable and no issues other than the normal ones to this vintage (heater valve, shitty stock radio, etc). last year had to have towed to friend's shop because of no start. i mean no cranking, no nothing - turned key, all warning lites came on, but nothing. next day he calls me to ask what was wrong and i said no start. well, car starts fine and cant duplicate problem. that was then, this is now. 2 nites ago took son to ice rink, came back out and same thing. all dash lites on, no crank. ah, maybe neutral safety switch? flicked the toggle inside the shift slot, put her in neutral and nothing. fuses? all looked ok but i spun them anyway. no wires under hood missing, disconnected or loose. after about 20 minutes of jiggling, pushing & pulling the key and a lot of cursing, gave up, got a ride home and let the car stew in its juices overnite. couldnt get the 'ding-ding-ding' of the 'key in ignition' warning bell out of my head. before calling tow, went back the next morning to see if i was re-living last year's nightmare. Yep, you guessed it, she started right up! everything seemed fine and normal except no directionals (no clicking, no lights on dash - nada). drove to shop and left it there for their diagnosis. havent heard from them but i am guessing bad ignition switch? directionals not related, maybe burned out the relay from all the ignition jiggling? any ideas or similar experiences? Rob in New London, are you there? Thanks in advance guys.
