240 Heater control valve replacement - need help quickly

I'm in the process of trying to replace the heater control valve on my 82 242. I wasn't able to source the stock replacement valve, so the kit I have uses a different type of valve. No capillary tube - that sensor port in the box gets blocked off. This is just a plain - I guess gate valve comes the closest to describing it. Where the stock valve is metal and orients the hose connections at a 90 degree angle, this valve body is plastic and metal, and the hose connections run straight through.

There are lots of miscellaneous pieces with the kit (brackets, clips, hoses, screws) - unfortunately one of those miscellaneous pieces wasn't a set of instructions. For the life of me I can't figure out 1) how to mount the valve, and 2)how to configure the hoses.

Anyone out there used this type of valve? Help.....

Thanks - Michael
