I finally got the chance to take the wagon out in the snow ... I've been hoping for one or two feet, but had to settle with 2-3" with a bit of ice.
I've been without a RWD car for 10 years so it's finally fun to drive in snow again.
The wagon handled very well--as someone here pointed out, the extra glass in the back adds some extra weight. I also threw in the a box of apple juice and a PC monitor for extra lbs.
I can see where a limited slip diff would be a great asset if one was doing a lot of snow driving. Something my car doesn't have and something I don't really need for my climate.
ABS seemed to work very well. The Volvo is the first car I've had with ABS and it really seem to help keep the wheels from sliding.
These cars just feel like they are made for snow. Maybe it's just the Swedish Propoganda I've been absorbing but it seemed well-suited for the conditions.
With any luck we'll get a few more inches for the drive home.
