It had 186k miles (300k kms) - not 186k kms as the ad said. (It was a US California smog car)

The body was not original - some major panel work pre 1998 in California, and some current damage and rust happening.

The interior was tough - leather worn on all seats - driver's and lft rear had seams split -

But it was an education...

Thanks everyone for your input - we drove to Calgary with a lot of information and things to look for.
