Today's project was to find the relay. I must admit that if you're not a contortionist, or under say 25, you're likely to have trouble either getting your head where it needs to go or seeing what your head should see when its positioned where it should be. Needless to say, I had difficulty, although I managed to pull the carpet back and remove the metal plate. Fortunately, everything was dry as a bone, which was good.
I removed the relay (which was in fact black in color), took it apart and resoldered the six connections. However, while the relay was out, for the heck of it, I found that the wipers still worked on position one and two. Do I take it that the wiper relay only controls the intermittent feature? I suppose the next step is to determine if there is power to the switch on the intermittent setting? I must say, the relay looked pretty good.
