Cleaning Frozen Switches? 700

I have a 760GLE with a near-perfect interior. Only problem is that some switches are frozen in the position they're in, and won't move. Any ideas on how to restore movement? I've been told to pull them, and put some brake cleaner on them, blow it off with canned air, and then shoot them with contact cleaner, but not much else than that

any suggestions?
