940 Speaker connections for all 6 drivers 900 1994

Hi all,

I have some questions about the speaker wiring on my 940. I am trying to install a new Alpine radio. I figured out all the wiring, but it looks like there are 6 speakers in the car. Two are in the front doors, two on the rear deck, and two on top of the front dash. I think the front dash ones have capacitors for high frequency response on them.

Anyhow, my stereo has outputs for only 4 drivers. Do you guys connect both pairs of front speakers to the front channel or do you add a separate power amp to the back 2 speakers in order to drive all 6.

Thanks for any input.

By the way, I ordered the wiring harness from Crutchfield before I pulled the old unit - that was a mistake. The connectors on my factory original match the connectors that are supposed to go into 89 model Volvo's according to their info. The one they list for a 94 Volvo does not fit mine.
