700, 900 series designations 700

Can anyone tell me the difference between all the name variations I am seeing? I see 740, 744, 745, 745T, 940, 944, 945T but all I see from Volvo is 740 and 940. Are these european designations? Also, what is the difference between a fully opted 740 turbo and a 760 turbo?
