Crank sensor covered with oil - Need PB Blaster? 200 1990

Hi. I need to replace the crank sensor which has been oil covered for some time. As a general question do I really need to use blaster. Or should the Oil coating generally do the job? I will use blaster whatever the answer, but I am curious.

Thanks.
