spastic temp gauge....how do we fix this? and other gauges.... 200 1986

hello all, i've got an '86 245 DL wagon with a spastic temp gauge. it seems to be pretty well behaved until i turn the lights on. i'm not sure if its a faulty gauge that just gets a surge when the lights come on or what.. but whenever i drive it with the lights on the temp needle rises to the very bottom of the orange warning spot. is there any way to go about fixing this problem? also i'm attempting to add some other gauges to my car that it didnt originally come with. i've found the wire for the tach and have installed that, but are 245 DL's prewired for things like an oil pressure and volts gauges? any info would be great!!
