740 turbo intercooler 1990, test-drive tomorrow, what to look for? 700 1990

I'm going to test-drive a 740 turbo intercooler 1990 tomorrow (118.000 miles). Is this a good year for this car and are there any particular things I should be watchful for and what is the difference between a turbo intercooler and a regular turbo?
