Is Volvo 740 / 760 Idle Control Valve ok for a 1983 240 B23F? 200

I may need an Idle Control Valve for my 1983 240 B23F (context below) -- and there's one on Ebay for a 740 / 760 where the photo looks like mine.

Anyone know if that's the same part?

Context:
+ Time for my 1983 to get its California Smog Check next month
+ I figured I'd better fix the fact that it lopes and quickly stalls at low idle
+ Raising the idle to 1200rpm fixes the issue... but will fail the test
+ Replacing the air filter did nothing
+ Running without air mass meter at low idle was great, but replacing air mass meter did nothing / problem remains
+ Am now replacing intake manifold gasket and air lines to the idle control valve (massive leakage right now)

If that doesn't work, I figure to go after the Idle Control Valve itself. Any other thoughts / would anyone else suggest other fixes (or tests), either before that or if the ICV fix still doesn't help?
