Hello everyone,

I have a 1988 760 Turbo with a worn wiper linkage. The plastic bushing that attaches the left wiper to the ball on the motor arm is worn. The result of this being: the linkage continues to fall off, leaving me with no wipers at all. Working at a Volvo dealership, I first checked with the parts department. The bushing or linkage is not available separately. The only replacement part sold by Volvo is the entire wiper transmission (motor and all). The retail price is nearly $350, with my cost being $250. Anyway, my motor still seems okay and I can't see paying this kind of money if not necessary. My question to everyone is, have you seen this before? The linkage in question is specific to the 1988-90 760 only, all 960 models, and S/V90 series (models without a specific metal cowl; the hood runs right up to the windshield). We do not see many of these cars in the dealership, so I cannot compare. Should I try a used part (is a used part going to be any better than what I have)? Should I buy new?
