Hi everyone... new to the site. I have a saab and I was just given a 1988 volvo turbo wagon. I know it has some problems but I don't know the causes yet. I should be troubleshooting them this weekend... what should I know?
These are the two problems I'm aware of:
1) There was a slight bit of water in the oil at the last change. No noticeable difference in performance.
2) Started twice when I first got it but would die as soon as I turned on the lights or anything else electrical. My jump box swears the battery is charged and the engine sounded pretty good when it was running... what am I dealing with here? Alternator, I presume?
Are there any other major things that go bad on these cars with age? It is at 188k miles but I trust my swedish car makers. What is a good place to grab parts?
Thanks for all of your advice!
