240 not charging 200

I have been having a problem with my 87 240 dis-charging I have changed altenator,batterie,positive batterie cable and added a ground between the chassis and engine.When the car is idling the altenator will charge slowly but if the RPMS go up then it will start to discharge and if the headlights are on it really starts to drop FAST, what can I be missing? what will make it discharge only while running? if it sits the batterie will stay charged up.
