Fellow Bricksters,
I have yanked apart my exhaust manifold (no broken studs) to replace a deteriorated exhaust gasket. I then came up with the brilliant idea of doing the work with the help of my Ford mechanic friend (and our drummer).
Stay tuned for this one.
Against my better judgement I took his lame advice and let him pull the oil tube from the insert hole on the side of the oil pan - as I was driving to the store he decided to "modify" the tube by bending into an oddly contorted and therefore, unusual condition ! I ordered a replacement from the Volvo store in Rutland, VT. They overnighted it and when I drove to drum boy's house, I found the tube would not fit correctly - the new tube crossed right in front of the oil filter housing and would not allow the tube to be in a position to be inserted into the port in the side of the oil pan. SHIT !!
So, do you any of you know how to stop our drummer from drinking Black Velvet and smoking weed while working on my beautiful Volvo 740 Wagon with 195 K on it ? I really want to kill him. By the way - he REALLY does work for the U.S. Postal Service, I am kind of scared.
I have a GARRET Turbo, do I need a special oil tube ? Do ANY of you know what the correct Volvo or aftermarket Part Number is for the correct tube and where do I order it from - even off of the web, I just want the correct tube and a drummer who isn't half caulked all of the time !
If there are any drummers who ARE NOT drunk or stoned all of the time anywhere within a one hour radius of White River Junctiion, Vermont - PLEASE Respond. Thanks in advance ! -Rich
