My 81 K-Jet still had the plug that blocks access to the idle mixture screw. I knocked the plug downward with a punch as suggested on the board. It worked great, except that the plug, which looked like a shiny ball bearing, didn't land on the inside floor of the air control unit where I planned on reaching it with a magnet. At least I haven't been able to locate this ball bearing after an hour and a half of trying. I also tried spraying carb cleaner down the adjusting hole, and into the unit while I held up the air control plate to wash it downstream. Still no lost plug. Anyone have any ideas? I thought maybe I'd run some compressed air into the adjusting hole to try to dislodge it, or maybe use a whole can of carb cleaner if necessary. Should I get it out even if it means going to the work of removing the whole unit and disassembling it? Is there even enough vacuum force in there to lift a loose ball bearing and suck it into the intake manifold? Don't want that. Any ideas would help.
