(I couldn't find anything in the archives adressing this problem.) My snow chains fit the rear tires, but rub agains a part bolted to the caliper (I think.) The chains grind against this part and make a "clank" sound each rotation as the chains' connection piece hits the car. This can't be good. Anybody out there had luck finding compatible chains, or a solution to this problem. (My tire size is 195 70R 14, in case this matters.) The chains are designed for this size tire and fit snugly. I've followed the instructions carefully. I trusted the local tire shop to give me the correct type of chains. Big mistake. They insisted that I fit them to the rear tires only. I, myself, don't know anything about chains. I've always just used 4 snow tires in winter, but that's not what people do here in Portland, Oregon. (And it's not an option as I'm on the cheap now anyway.) A big thanks to BrickBoard for help with my car probs in the past! Any help (advice) would be greatly appreciated. Greg in Portland, OR
ps
My temporary solution was to drive 10mpg home. Took over an hour to drive across our very small city!
