740 Died, no restart 700 1990

It was very cold this morning but the car started and ran fine!
After about 45 minutes of trouble free operation I stopped for
about 5 minutes. It restarted fine but then died suddenly shortly
after when I was stepping on the gas. The car turns over but will
not start.
When the key is removed the battery light is on!

Any ideas?
