trim around 940 front windshield 900 1994

Any ideas on how difficult it is to replace the metal trim around the front wind shield. The current trim is starting to rust extensively. I've heard it doesn't simply snap in place, that I might have to remove the wind shield. THis is the metal strip that surrounds the top and both side of the wind shield, between the glass and the actual car body. Thanxx in advance.
