Got an '84 242 manual (B21FT) for the kid. It sat for 2 years before we got it but ran OK before it was parked. Did a major tune-up including a new wiring harness, plugs/wires, fuel filter, cap/rotor, T-Belt, oil/filter, injector seals, cleaned TB/PCV, new vac hoses and other assorted goodies. The car ran well for a few days but has now developed an annoying habit of cutting out under acceleration. It will run fine around a constant 3,000 rpm but as I creep up toward 3,500 rpm, it begins to buck as if I am losing ignition. It will also buck as I accelerate from a full stop or low speed. The bucking is not isolated at 3,500 rpm (it will do it as low as 2,500) but that is where it is most consistent and apparent. The turbo seems to be supplying boost correctly. Here are some other symptoms which may or may not have anything to do with it...

1) valve tap
2)loud whine coming from what seems to be the main fuel pump (can hear it distinctly in the cabin while sitting at a stoplight) it will cycle on and off
3)poor idle when first started (will stall out sometimes), smooths out as it warms up, idle is about 1,000 rpm when warm.

So, any ideas? I plan on checking fuel pressures/flow, wiring harness parts not replaced, intake leaks, and anything else that pops into my head while I'm in there. Any relays I should be resoldering? My experience lies mainly w/700/900's so I am not well steeped in 200 lore.
