Lubrication and another question 200

Hello, folks:

What's the best lubricant for window mechanisms? I'm replacing manual with electric and it's a good time to lubricate the stuff.

I'm also replacing a heater blower motor (what a pain) and there's a connection behind the instrument panel I can't identify. A cable plugs in on the right side of the panel, goes to a black box with two wires that go to a blue connector. Whatever it was wasn't hooked up to anything when I took stuff apart (except for being plugged into the instrument panel) and I don't know what it does. 'anybody know?
